Terms of Service

Effective date: 11 April 2026  ·  Last updated: 11 April 2026

1. Who we are

Roam (the "app") is provided by Luboš Dušek ("we", "us", "our"), contactable at [email protected].

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and us. By downloading, installing, or using Roam you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Roam does

Roam is a travel-planning app that generates personalised itineraries for destinations using AI research. Each itinerary includes daily plans, hand-picked events, maps, transport information, and weather. You can also share itineraries with other Roam users and collaborate on trips in real time.

Roam has two modes:

  • Travel, city trips and slow exploration
  • Active, multi-day outdoor adventures (hikes, climbs, outdoor routes)

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Roam. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your country), you may only use Roam with the consent of your parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under the laws of your country of residence.

4. Your account

4.1 Sign in with Apple

Roam uses Sign in with Apple as its sole authentication method. By signing in you authorise Apple to share with us:

  • A stable user identifier that is unique to you and to Roam
  • On first sign-in only: your email address (or Apple's "Hide My Email" relay address, if you choose) and your name

Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID credentials secure. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.

4.2 Account data we store

We store the following data tied to your Roam account:

  • The Apple user identifier
  • Your email address (real or relayed)
  • Your display name and profile picture
  • Your trip history and generated itineraries
  • Your purchase history, token balance, and subscription status
  • Your preference for receiving marketing emails

For full details on how we collect, use, and protect this data, see our Privacy Policy.

4.3 Account deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account & data) or by contacting us at [email protected].

5. In-app purchases and subscriptions

5.1 Tokens

Roam uses a token system. One token generates one complete AI-researched itinerary that you keep forever. You receive one free token when you create your account. Additional tokens are available as consumable in-app purchases.

Token prices are displayed in your local currency at the point of purchase and may vary by region. Tokens are consumable, once spent on an itinerary they cannot be refunded by us. Tokens do not expire as long as your account is active.

5.2 Subscriptions

You can subscribe to unlimited itineraries and unlimited refinement searches:

  • Monthly subscription
  • Annual subscription

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, you will continue to have access until then.

5.3 Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policy. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.

6. Your content

6.1 Ownership

You own the trips and itineraries you create in Roam. You retain all rights, title, and interest in your personal trip data.

6.2 License you grant us

To operate Roam, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and transmit your trip data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This specifically includes:

  • Processing your trip request through our AI research provider (Anthropic) to generate itineraries
  • Storing your itineraries on our servers (Supabase)
  • Displaying them in the app and synchronising them across your devices
  • Transmitting them to other users only when you explicitly share or collaborate on a trip

6.3 Shared and collaborative trips

When you share a trip via a share code or invite a collaborator, you grant them permission to view (and, for collaborators, edit) that trip. You are responsible for anything you share. Don't share trips containing other people's personal information without their consent.

7. AI-generated content, important disclaimer

7.1 How itineraries are generated

Itineraries in Roam are generated by large language models (Claude, made by Anthropic). The AI researches publicly available information about your destination and produces personalised recommendations.

7.2 Accuracy

AI-generated itineraries may contain errors, inaccuracies, outdated information, or recommendations for places, events, or services that no longer exist, are closed, or have changed. We make reasonable efforts to produce quality results but we cannot and do not guarantee accuracy.

Before travelling, you must independently verify:

  • Opening hours, addresses, and current operating status of any recommended venue
  • Ticket availability, booking requirements, and prices for any event
  • Travel restrictions, safety information, health requirements, and visa requirements for your destination
  • Transport timetables, availability, and costs

We are not liable for decisions you make based on information in Roam, including any loss, inconvenience, or harm resulting from inaccurate, outdated, or misleading information. Roam is a planning assistant, not an authoritative travel guide. Always cross-reference critical information with official sources.

7.3 Map and location data

Roam uses Apple Maps and Apple's point-of-interest database to display locations. Occasionally a location lookup may return an incorrect result. Always verify important addresses (accommodation, transport, booked events) through an independent source before relying on them during your trip.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Roam for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
  • Bypass or attempt to bypass any authentication, payment, or rate-limiting mechanism
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to generate itineraries, create accounts, or extract data
  • Share, resell, or transfer your account to another person
  • Harass, harm, impersonate, or deceive other users in shared or collaborative trips
  • Use Roam to plan or facilitate illegal activities
  • Upload content (profile picture, username, trip data) that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others
  • Interfere with the normal operation of Roam, our servers, or any third-party services we use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Intellectual property

Roam, its logo, code, visual design, and all trademarks are owned by us. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the app itself. You may use the app only as expressly permitted by these Terms and by Apple's standard end-user license agreement for App Store apps.

10. Third-party services

Roam relies on third-party services to function:

  • Apple, app distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, Apple Maps, calendar export (EventKit)
  • Anthropic (Claude), AI research and itinerary generation
  • Supabase, cloud storage for account data and trip history
  • Open-Meteo, weather forecasts

Your use of Roam is subject to the terms and privacy practices of these third parties where applicable. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

11. Service availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Roam (or any feature of it) at any time, with or without notice. If we permanently discontinue Roam, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance and to allow you to export your trip data.

Roam is provided "as is", we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that every feature will always work as intended.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used fraudulently or abusively. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it in-app.

Upon termination, your right to use Roam ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roam is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or the accuracy of any itinerary, event, price, or map.

We do not warrant that the app will meet your specific requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that any defects will be corrected.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost data, or personal injury) arising out of or relating to your use of Roam, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app is limited to the greater of the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If the law of your country prohibits or limits any of these exclusions, they apply to the maximum extent permitted by that law.

15. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the law of your country that cannot be excluded or waived by agreement. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you retain your rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the right to withdraw from certain purchases within specified cooling-off periods where those rights apply to digital content and subscriptions.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom, except where applicable consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you (for example, by email or through an in-app notice) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.

Your continued use of Roam after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't agree to the changes, stop using the app and delete your account.
